New Packaging Concept
A recent Uni project when working in Polymers and Composites. The brief was to design and make a mould to mould objects linked to the theme of Human Factors, this was only a 2 week project. I wanted to create a new type of packaging for a variety of objects, but I predominantly focused on food packaing. I wanted to create a package that incorporated the item that was being packaged into the material used to make the packaging.
The idea behind this package was that you would seal the item inside the hard case and then very much like an egg you would crack it on the work top or work surface to release the contents.
The piece is mostly about the senses as the package would have no graphics on it, the only way of indicating what was inside would be too look at the material used in making the package, or smell the packaging.
The packaging is made from Jesmonite, mixed with grains of rice.
The design is only a concept.
