This is a project that I am currently working on at Uni. The brief was to design a liquid carrier, inspired by a place. I chose the Caxia Forum in Madrid, after having recently visiting last month. I chose this building to inspire my work as the underneath was very angular and triangular and I was interested in the form of the building and this inspired my liquid carrier.
It is made from gilding metal, which I have scored and folded to create the angles. I have then soldered all the joints and filed them into a sharp edge. The edges are really crisp which is the look I was after.
The idea behind the design is that it will be quite awkward and uncertain to hold and use, not only because of how sharp it is but also because it will not stand up with liquid in it. So therefore once you have picked it up and filled it you cannot put it down until all the liquid has been used.
It is still a work in progress, as it needs to be polished back to a golden shine.
